Spring Cleaning with doTERRA Essential Oils - Part 2

We’re continuing our Spring cleaning series with a few more of my favorite household DIY recipes. I love that dōTERRA’s CPTG® essential oils give me full confidence in using them around my house, especially around my kiddos.

In last week’s post, we tackled the wood furniture, fridge, and counters, tubs, and sinks. Today, we’re jumping in with an easy glass cleaner. That’s right, we’re wiping all those dirty mirrors and windows clean!

Glass Cleaner

Ingredients:
16-ounce spray bottle - (linking my favorite glass bottle here)
1 ½ cup white vinegar
½ cup distilled water
8 drops of your citrus oil of choice - I recommend Lemon, Lime, or Grapefruit

Directions:

  1. Add vinegar, water, and essential oil(s) to spray bottle and shake.

  2. Clean those mirrors and windows!

Now that the mirrors and windows are crystal clear, all the sunshine will shine right onto your kitchen grime :) When was the last time you cleaned your microwave or really scrubbed your fridge? Be honest…it’s ok. Not high priority items most of the time. Luckily, you can whip this spray up with the same ingredients as the glass cleaner - just a little different ratios. So we might as well kill two birds with one stone, right?

Microwave or Fridge Cleaner

Ingredients:
1 cup white vinegar
2 cups hot water
15 drops Lemon oil

Directions:

  1. Combine the ingredients in glass spray bottle.

  2. Spray mixture inside fridge or microwave, then scrub and wipe using damp cloth.

Now we’re moving onto a bigger project - the carpet. After a long winter, your carpets need some love, especially if you’re like me and have kiddos that run all over them. Use this carpet cleaner and I promise you your whole house will smell wonderful. You and your babies will be happy, happy, happy on the clean, fresh floors just like Cannen.

Carpet Cleaner

Ingredients:
2 cups baking soda
10 drops Purify Cleansing Blend

Directions:

  1. Add essential oil to baking soda and stir until well combined.

  2. Sprinkle mixture over carpet. *A spice bottle with the sifter top works great for this!

  3. Let rest one to two hours. Vacuum.

  4. Store remaining baking soda in an airtight container for future use.

Good work, my friend! Doesn’t it feel great to have your house all ready for a new season? Thanks for coming along on this cleaning journey with me.

Keep sharing the love,
Tobi
